A Special Day at Stirling

This year’s Annual Conference and AGM had a relaxed feeling about it, members had lot of time to mingle with one another, more so than any other of our conferences and AGMs in recent years. There was a ’Care Service Surgery’ and a ’Welfare and Benefits Surgery’ that allowed people to meet with our staff members to discuss issues affecting them. A ‘Have your Say’ session gave groups of attendees a chance to share their opinions about how MND Scotland can improve its service. Feedback from this session is still being collated  to be reviewed by our Chief Executive and Board members.

There were talks on the day discussing some of the research currently receiving funding by us, and our Scottish MND Register was also part of this. Two of the most popular presentations on the day were about changes to the Welfare and Benefits system, and research receiving funding from our charity that is investigating how motor neurone cell regeneration can be promoted.
