Volunteer Awards Ceremony - Falkirk, 7 June 2010

Congratulations to Ann Kerr who came runner up in the Falkirk area Volunteer of the Year Award and also to Mary Steven, Norma Jack and Rita Smith who were awarded a five year service award and to Irene Anderson and Kay Ferguson who were awarded certificates recognising their contribution and commitment as volunteers with MND Scotland.   

MND Scotland also came runners up in the category of the organisation utilising volunteers to provide Outstanding Achievement in Health and Wellbeing within the Forth Valley area.  The ceremony took place at the MacDonald Inchyra Grange Hotel, Falkirk on Monday 7 June 2010 during Volunteers Week and was hosted by Volunteer Centre, Falkirk.  Presentations were made by Provost Reid.

It was business as usual for Ann though, straight after the ceremony, Ann button holed Gordon Samson, Chief Superintendent  for Communities Policing and asked him to be a speaker at next year's Ladies Lunch, to which he agreed.  Well done ladies on your achievements, it's well deserved.

Prize Bingo

A prize bingo evening has been arranged for Tuesday 17 August 2010 at the Mahratta, Bo'ness Road, Grangemouth FK3 9BT from 7.30pm.  Tickets cost 50p and can be obtained from Ann Kerr.

Ladies Lunch and Fashion Show

The ladies lunch will take place on Sunday 26 September 2010 from 12.30pm at The Grange Manor, Glensburgh, Grangemouth FK3 8XJ.  The tickets are £20 for a 2 course meal followed by a fashion show.  Clothing provided by Wilkies of Falkirk. 

Central Branch 10th Anniversary Open Day

To celebrate their 10th anniversary, the Branch will host an open day on Sunday 17 October at the Grange Manor, Glensburgh, Grangemouth FK3 8XJ.  It is anticipated that there will be a guest speaker from the Euan MacDonald Centre giving a talk on the latest research developments, possibly a talk on Welfare and Benefits and complementary therapists in attendance offering taster sessions.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Further information will be provided soon.

Central Branch Lunches

 Lunches will be held at The Shore, Carronshore Road, Falkirk FK2 8ES at 12 noon, anyone who has a connection to MND is welcome to attend. Dates are as follows:
