Fun Run 2010
Our annual Fun Run will take place on Sunday May 16th 2010 at Strathclyde Country Park, and you can walk, jog or run either the 4 or 6 mile course around the loch. Last year we raised an incredible £60,000 to support the work of our Care Team, but we can only achieve this again with your help. Last year more than 550 people took part in the Fun Run, and this year we hope to have a record turnout. It's a great way to spend a day for families, friends, work colleagues, schools or running clubs, and everyone from individuals to large groups are welcome to get involved.
Your £10 entry fee covers our costs in organising the Fun Run, so every pound you raise in sponsorship really does make a difference. Whether its a few pounds or thousands – every penny you raise soon adds up. We will provide sponsor forms and a T-shirt to every entrant, and can help you set up on online sponsorship page at www.justgiving.com/smnda. As a way of recognising your efforts in raising sponsorship, everyone who raises £100 or more will receive a commemorative award to mark the invaluable contribution made towards our services, and all participants will receive a medal for taking part.
There will be a number of stalls in the main marquee including refreshments, home baking and the tombola. We will also have massage available for all participants the finishing line.
ONLINE ENTRY IS NOW CLOSED, BUT YOU CAN STILL REGISTER ON THE DAY. THE REGISTRATION TENT OPENS ON SUNDAY 16TH MAY AT 10am - WE WILL BE NEXT TO THE WATERSPORTS CENTRE.
MND Scotland is a registered charity. All of our services are free to people living in Scotland with MND and their families. Often, we are the only source of support.
Our services and support will cost more than £1 million this year, meaning we need to raise almost £20,000 every week.
We receive little financial support form the NHS or government.
None of our work would be possible without the generous support of our donors and fundraisers.
