Manifestos for People Affected by MND

We published two manifestos in 2017; one for the General Election and one for the Scottish Council Elections.

General Election 2017

In response to this year's snap general election, MND Scotland produced a Manifesto for People Affected by MND, informed by the experience of those living with the illness.

It highlighted issues reserved to Westminster, and called for parties and candidates to commit to:

  • Doubling MND research funding to help find a cure
  • Effectively fast tracking welfare benefits for people affected by MND

We sent the manifesto to the main party HQs for consideration in their own manifesto development.

Local Scottish Council Elections Manifesto

The local Scottish Council elections took place on 4th May 2017. We produced a Council Elections manifesto for these elections too and asked candidates to support it. Of those we were able to contact, almost 100 pledged their support. Over the next few weeks, we will be getting in touch with those elected to ensure they know how to support constituents affected by MND.
