The Lothian Branch is gearing up for a busy August and September with lots of fundraising events.
We are hoping to have a stand at the North Berwick Highland Games on the 9th August, this is a great day out and we usually raise a good sum. Please come along and say ‘Hi’ at the stall when you are passing.
This is also an opportunity for us to remind you all of our FANTASTIC FASHION SHOW and raffle on the 9th October at the Minto Hotel, Edinburgh where ‘Andeamo’ will be providing us with up-to-date clothes and accessories. Tickets are £10 and available from our August meeting and we want to sell them to as many people as possible! So please come along, we would love to see you there for what promises to be a really good evening!
At the end of August you will see us outside Sainsbury’s in Straiton with a can collection Saturday. It’s always a good feeling when people come up and chat because they knew someone affected, or if they haven’t a clue what MND is but are interested to know more.
In September we have a member running in two MND Scotland races, the Holyrood fun run 5K and the Loch Ness Marathon. The Branch will also be providing help and support on the day of the fun run in Holyrood so if you are free, the more the merrier. If you enjoy running, please think of us and choose MND Scotland as your charity to support.
We have a new Twitter account fundraise4MNDS, so you can catch up with all our fundraising activity by following our tweets about each event. We are starting up a Facebook group too so that we can spread the news of our work even further.
We always need more volunteers and are looking at ways to raise our profile so if you can help us in any way at all please contact Laura Stephenson on lstephenson1402 [at] gmail [dot] com or 07500 872782.
Since the last newsletter we have raised, supported, enabled, facilitated a lot of money for MND Scotland and we would like to acknowledge and thank in particular the following people for their efforts:
