Life has changed. How do you feel? Share your feelings confidentially with a supportive professional.
MND Scotland offers emotional support and professional counselling for people affected by MND and relatives bereaved by the loss of someone to MND.
You may sometimes feel overwhelmed by the emotional pain of living with MND. During these times it is reassuring to know that these often difficult feelings are not unusual. MND and bereavement bring major life changes and it can be helpful to talk about what has happened and how your life has been altered.
We all cope differently. You may have been feeling all sorts of disturbing emotions or be aware that you are not your usual self.
Will they understand?
Are you afraid you'll be a burden?
Do you feel confused or frightened?
Counselling can help offer the privacy to express your feelings. The grieving process can take time and doesn’t need to be hurried with our counsellors. Your G.P. may have suggested that counselling can often help if you find coping day to day difficult.
The service is lead by an experienced counsellor who provides a telephone and face-to-face service from our head office. There is also a co-ordinated service of specialist trained volunteer counsellor throughout Scotland. This confidential service will be offered at a time suitable for, and agreed by you.
