MND Scotland’s Care Service
MND Scotland works in partnership with NHS Scotland to provide a team of specialist, highly qualified health professionals who support people affected by MND. The role of the ‘Care Team’ is to work with people with MND and their families, visit newly diagnosed patients to offer support and to assess their needs. As trained clinical specialists, Care Team members liaise with other health and social care professionals to ensure the best possible care for each individual. These professionals can include Occupational Therapists, Nutritionists, and Speech & Language Therapists and Social Workers. If you have been recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease you can choose to receive support from a member of the Care Team. Your neurologist should refer you on to the Care Team who will then contact you, however there can be delays in this process. If you wish to speak to a member of the Care Team call us on 0141 332 3903
