MND Scotland held two Study Days during 2012; one in Ediniburgh and one in Aberdeen. The theme at each was “Multidisciplinary Care Pathways in MND” which allowed speakers to discuss the range of symptoms commonly encountered by Health Care Professionals when dealing with people affected by MND.
Our Study Days prove to be popular with local health and social care professionals. Themes, dates, and locations are still to be finalised for 2013 but we welcome you to get in touch to become part of our mailing list and recieve invites when Study Days are organised in your area. Contact robert [dot] bestow [at] mndscotland [dot] org [dot] uk for more information.
Family information evenings are an opportunity for the friends and families of the recently diagnosed to learn more about motor neurone disease and the support available from MND Scotland, the NHS and your local Community Health Partnership.
Some people affected by MND might eventually develop swallowing problems, these sessions are intended to help you find ways of modifiying the preparation and presentation of the foods you normally eat at home to make them easier for someone with swallowing problems.
Available free of charge to staff of any organisation that is likely to come into contact with people with MND: Awareness Raising Sessions can be tailored to the needs of your staff and can help prepare staff to understand the needs of clients affected by MND.
