Carrie Corson is an advanced Speech and Language Therapist working across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in the adult acute service. Carrie has worked in this service for the past 14 years. Prior to that, she worked as a Speech and Language Therapist across NHS Dumfries and Galloway in a paediatric community post.
She developed a professional interest in MND early in her career, supporting those with communication and swallowing difficulties at all stages of the disease progression, both pre and post diagnosis.
"I helped care for my uncle who was diagnosed with MND in November 2015 at the age of 47. He later passed away in March 2017.
I'm a keen fundraiser in support of the SSPCA, those affected by MND and other neurodegenerative diagnoses. I've taken part in five 10k runs and a half marathon as well as the Ice Bucket Challenge and Silence Speaks.
I'm committed to improving the quality of life of those affected by MND and I look forward to living in a world where a cure is found."
