Fiona King

MND Scotland Board of Trustees

Campaigns & Public Affairs Manager, Shelter Scotland

Working across Scotland's charity, political and public affairs communities, Fiona has an understanding of how policy is made and how change is brought about. She believes passionately in ensuring that the user voice is central to any legal, service or policy changes and has wide experience of campaigning for and influencing positive changes at the highest level.

On a personal level, when a good friend of hers was diagnosed with MND it was eye-opening to see what treatments, support and services are and sadly, are not, available which motivated her to get involved.

About me

"When I'm not working or running around after my baby, I have a passion for holidaying and travelling having been lucky enough to live in Bolivia and China and visited many far-flung places. I enjoy walking, especially in Scotland and have undertaken a number of endurance challenges raising money for charities I am involved with. Partial to a pub quiz."

quote marks

“I was excited to join the Board of MND Scotland because it is a challenging and hard-working charity with an incredibly wide remit - critical to those affected by motor neurone disease. Being on the Board is an opportunity to contribute to this dynamic organisation and help the ambition to cure MND.”
