Graeme Hardie

Vice Chair with special responsibility for Governance

Former IT Executive

Graeme spent 38 years working in Information Technology at senior and executive levels, most recently with Nationwide Building Society (where his responsibilities included leading the IT departments in Dunfermline, Derbyshire and Cheshire) and Scottish Friendly Assurance, where he was Head of IT.

Graeme recently returned to studying and in 2018 he graduated with an MSc in Global eHealth from the University of Edinburgh. His final year dissertation researched the use of tele-health in the care of people with MND.

About me

Graeme's father died from MND in 1979 when he was just 20 years old. At that time there was no specialist care for those with MND and little knowledge within the medical community.  Graeme wants to ensure that care, research and education all continue to improve through the work of MND Scotland. Since becoming involved with MND Scotland Graeme has developed an interest in using technology to improve health and healthcare and is currently exploring how this might be applied to those with MND.
