Head of Direct Services

As part of the organisation’s Senior Management Team, you will manage the direct services provided by the charity, ensuring their effective development is in response to the needs of those affected by MND.

Starting Salary: £34,943
Hours: 35 hours per week
Closing date: 31st July 2017

MND Scotland is looking for someone to manage their current care services for people affected by Motor Neurone Disease and lead on the development of new support services to improve the lives of those affected by the disease.

This is a key leadership role and as part of the organisation’s senior management team, you will manage our direct services team and the services they run, including counselling, equipment loan, complementary therapy and information.

You will be a highly motivated individual, have experience in health and social care, have excellent communication skills and enjoy new challenges. Experience of successfully managing and developing a diverse range of care and support services is essential.


Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will:-

  • provide management and leadership to the direct services provided by MND Scotland
  • ensure the effective development of MND Scotland services are in response to the identified needs of those affected by MND and the development of the organisation
  • develop and implement robust service delivery plans and systems to ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day operations to include carrying out of audits and evaluation of specific projects and services.
  • contribute to the strategic management and development of MND Scotland as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT)

The successful candidate will be expected to play a wider leadership role by representing MND Scotland at key meetings and fostering collaboration to drive forward projects and initiatives in the delivery of our mission to reduce the impact of MND on the lives of those affected today and provide hope for a world without MND tomorrow.
