Ben Nevis Midnight Trek 2022

Reach for the stars with our midnight Ben Nevis trek.

Ben Nevis Midnight Trek 2022

Join us as we trek to the highest point in the UK – guided by torches and the stunning night sky!

The Ben Nevis Midnight Trek will see us conquer the highest mountain in the UK, but with a difference. We’ll be setting off at night-time and our trek will follow the route as it zig-zags its way to the summit in time to witness a breath-taking sunrise across the Scottish Highlands on our descent.

The trek will be challenging, but we'll be accompanied by experienced mountain leaders supporting us every step of the way and we will return with memories to last a lifetime.

Challenge highlights:

  • Trek 12 miles (18k) to the summit of the UK’s highest mountain at 1,343m
  • Witness a stunning sunrise as you descend Ben Nevis
  • Experience the breath-taking views of the Scottish Highlands
  • A fantastic challenge – perfect for those with little time away from home and work

Challenge overview

The team will meet in Fort William where we'll then enjoy dinner and a safety briefing. The trek begins at around midnight and the route to the summit will zig-zag its way through tough terrain. The landscape becomes ever more remote as we trek higher and higher, leaving the lowlands behind us.

Our ascent should take approximately 4-5 hours and the descent should take approximately 3-4 hours. As we descend and emerge from under the cloud line, we will be able to (hopefully!) enjoy a magical sunrise and take in the stunning views surrounding us. Upon reaching the finish we are rewarded with a hearty breakfast. We are then free to go on our onward journeys.

Please note: We recommend that participants use public transport as we don’t want anyone taking the risk of driving whilst tired.

Participants must be aged 18 or over to take part in this challenge alone. Those aged 14-17 may take part if accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Fundraising goal

Participants pay a registration fee of £49 to Global Adventure Challenges (non-refundable). We ask you to commit to raising a minimum sponsorship of £400 per person. This helps fund life-changing services for people affected by motor neurone disease (MND) in Scotland and helps power cutting-edge MND research.

We will be organising a free return mini-bus from Glasgow to the start venue at Fort William. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Full details will be confirmed closer to the event.

Our trek is facilitated by Global Adventure Challenges and the booking button below will take you to the sign-up page on their website.
