Whether you are living with MND or caring for someone who does, we can help ease the pressure you may be under at this time.

  • A friendly voice or a shoulder to lean on
  • Help arranging practical support, such as shopping or collecting prescriptions
  • Advice on available or currently restricted services
  • To speak to a professional counsellor
  • Anything else at all

Whether you are a regular at our Support Group meetings, or you’ve never given them a try, now is the perfect time to say a (virtual) hello!

What to expect:

  • Log in from the comfort of your living room and keep up to speed with the latest developments on the current situation
  • You’ll have a chance to ask questions and also benefit from hearing what others have to say
  • Unlike our regional face-to-face meetings, virtual meetings are open to anyone who wants to attend from across the whole of Scotland
  • You’ll be surprised by how warm and friendly our groups are – even by video. You don’t need to stay to the end if you don’t want to (but we’re sure you will!)

Living with MND can place you under financial pressure at the best of times. With the country in a state of lockdown, we understand that an already difficult situation just got even tougher.

Our Small Grant normally has a lifetime limit of £1,000. However, if you have already used this amount and are struggling financially at the moment, you can apply again.

To apply:

  3. We’ll assess each application on a case by case basis

Dealing with local authorities and organisations can be exasperating at times. If you are coming up against roadblocks when accessing the care or support you are entitled to, we are here to help.

Our Advocacy team can take your side and work on your behalf to resolve any issues you may be experiencing, taking away the stress and making your situation easier for you and your family.

Ways we can help:

  • Accessing services from your local authority
  • Disputes with companies (such as insurance, utility or communications)
  • Securing equipment you are entitlement to
  • And much more...

wishes known

We know this will be very difficult to think about but we want to ensure you are prepared and in control should you develop Coronavirus. It is important that you plan ahead.

We can help with:

  • Making or reviewing your will
  • Making an Advance Directive, which gives you control over the care you might wish to receive from healthcare professionals
  • Appointing a Power of Attorney, letting you nominate someone you trust to make decisions about your health or finances should you become incapable of making decisions about your own affairs
