Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all MND Scotland face-to-face services have been postponed, including our Complementary Therapy service. We know how important this service is to people with MND and their carers to help with stress management, pain relief, muscle cramps and relaxation.
We have introduced our Wellbeing Grant so you can still access complementary therapies, such as massage and reiki. This grant also gives you more flexibility to choose other self-care services, like taking a trip to your favourite barber shop or salon, or seeking guided meditation to improve your mental health and wellbeing.
Our Wellbeing Grant can provide up to £600 per person each year, for people living with MND and their partner or carer. This grant can help you access self-care services, such as:
We have compiled a list of complementary therapists who have experience of MND, and who have given us permission to put their details on our website.
Please note: Any therapeutic options should complement existing medical care and should not be seen as a replacement to currently prescribed medication. Unfortnately, MND Scotland cannot guarantee that all treatments listed will be available in your area.
