MND Scotland provides information to people affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND); including carers, family members and health professionals.

MND Scotland has a professionally run library and information service for use by patients and health and social care professionals, which includes:

Enquiry Service

You can contact our Information Officer for information on all aspects of living with MND. We provide information on topics such as details of our services, finding accessible holiday accommodation and where to find travel insurance. Enquiries are welcomed by email, telephone, by post, or social media. 

Library Service 

We have a comprehensive lending library of materials on motor neurone disease. We have books, journals, conference proceedings and a collection of videos and DVDs on the following topics:

  • Motor Neurone Disease
  • Palliative Care
  • Disability Issues
  • Community Care
  • Health Care

Our library resources can be searched from any device with internet access on NHS Education for Scotland's The Knowledge Network website. You will need an OpenAthens account to do access the resources.

Membership of the library is free, everyone is welcome to borrow from the library and there is no cost for the use of the service. For details of membership, please email the Information Officer at  A visit to the library will allow you to make the best use of our service, so please make an appointment as the information officer works part-time. The premises have parking and disabled access.

Literature Searching 

Searches on any aspect of MND can be requested. In addition, a current awareness service to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in MND research is available.
