Tommy Monteith (38), from Portpatrick, is rowing a raft 19 miles from Donaghadee in Ireland, to his hometown, with 11 others in aid of MND Scotland.
It has been announced that a new row of gene contributing to MND has been discovered.
Gordon Aikman (31, Edinburgh) and Lucy Lintott (21, Moray), who both suffer from MND have jointly won the Charity Champion Award at this year’s Scottish Charity Awards. Lucy also left with the People’s Choice Award, which was decided by a public vote.
