MND Scotland is pleased to offer more Complementary Therapy for people with MND and their carers.

Complementary Therapy Service Extended

Posted : 03/05/2017

We are happy to announce that our complementary therapy service for people with MND and their carers has been extended.

MND patients and/or their main carer can now apply for up to 20 free sessions a year, rather than 20 sessions in their lifetime. We have been told that people find the treatments to be very beneficial in easing cramps, muscle aches and helping them de-stress, so we are thrilled we can now offer more of this service.

The service is free of charge and available Scotland wide. Sessions are delivered in your own home and are provided by qualified therapists.

Dawn Hamilton, Volunteer Development Coordinator at MND Scotland, said: "Complementary Therapy is great for soothing aches and pains that can be brought on by the condition. Our Therapists offer everything from therapeutic massage and reflexology, to aromatherapy and even Indian Head Massage.

The Therapists are fantastic. They'll come to see you at home and you'll get a good chat as well. It's like having your own personal hairdresser."

If you are affected by MND and would like further information, please contact Dawn Hamilton on 0141 332 3903 or email dawn.hamilton@mndscotland.org.uk.

If you have already used the service before, please let us know if you would like further treatments.
