John Mcleod Award 2016

Over the past eight years the team has raised an outstanding £1 million pounds for charities, of which over £300,000 has gone to MND Scotland. We have been chosen as one of the nominated charities from the first year (2009) because the group’s colleague and friend, Ian Bowen, had Motor Neurone Disease.

This year, in May 2016, a team of 70 current and former BP employees completed their 250 mile coast to coast cycle. The team split into two groups, leaving from Skye and Oban, and reunited three days later in Elgin for an overnight stop, before their final day of cycling towards the finish point in Aberdeen.

This year the event raised a fantastic £150,000 between four charities; MND Scotland; Support in Mind Scotland; Charlie House; and Home-Start Aberdeen. The team of fundraisers were also shortlisted in the Scottish Fundraising Awards 2016 for their incredible efforts.

Well done everyone!
