Research Grant Awards 2019

MND Scotland is calling on researchers to submit their proposals for funding consideration.

Call for MND Research Projects

At MND Scotland, our vision is of a world without MND. The only way that this vision can be realised is through progress in MND research.

Accordingly, we wish to invite applications for our 2019 Research Grant Awards. This scheme aims to stimulate and increase high quality research projects into MND. Grants will be awarded for a limited duration up to a maximum of three years.

Our 2017-2020 research strategy seeks to build partnerships, involve people affected by MND, and to monitor the impact of our investment. We’re putting an extra £1.2 million on the table to boost our efforts to beat MND. That takes our total commitment to research so far to £2.4 million.

Two separate research schemes are now open: research projects and PhD studentships.

  • Applications for MND Scotland Research Project Awards should not exceed £75,000 per annum and £225,000 in total.
  • PhD studentships will be awarded up to a maximum of £25,000 per annum (£75,000 in total over three years).

Prospective researchers associated with UK institutions should submit an application by Thursday 28th February 2019 (midday close).

Informal enquiries should be directed to MND Scotland's Education and Research Officer. You can call Steven Karlsson-Brown on 0141 332 3903 or email him at steven@mndscotland.org.uk.
